According to the New York Daily News, Detroit Lions linebacker Trevor Bates was arrested early Saturday morning after refusing to pay cab fare. From there, things only got much, much worse.
Per the police report, Bates refused to be fingerprinted and responded by punching a police officer in the face. According to the New York Post, the officer suffered a concussion and received three stitches.
As for Bates, he was sent to Elmhurst Hospital Center for a psychiatric evaluation.
Bates played in nine games for the Detroit Lions, logging most of his snaps as a special teamer.
