The safety market is finally moving with some veterans still on the market, and that means former Detroit Lions captain Tracy Walker appears to have finally found a new home. According to The Athletic’s Matt Barrows, Walker is expected to sign with the San Francisco 49ers.
Walker, the Lions’ third-round pick in 2018, started 43 games for the Lions over the past six seasons. In 2022, he signed a three-year deal with Detroit, with the expectations he’d become a leader of the secondary.
“You were one of the guys we were talking about,” coach Dan Campbell told Walker in a behind-the-scenes video.
