The Detroit Lions lost running backs coach Curtis Modkins when he took the offensive coordinator gig with the San Francisco 49ers on Friday.
A day later, the franchise has focused in on his replacement.
Alex Marvez of FOX Sports is reporting the Lions will hire David Walker as the team's new running backs coach.

Walker worked with Lions coach Jim Caldwell in 2011 as his running backs coach in Indianapolis, a position he held through the end of the 2014 season. That was Walker's first foray into coaching in the NFL. It is not clear if he coached last season.
