The Lions might find out Tuesday what Calvin Johnson’s plans are for 2016.
According to an NFL Network report, the Lions expect to hear Johnson’s decision with regard to his potential retirement around noon Tuesday.
Lions officials and Johnson’s agent, Bus Cook, haven’t responded to several requests for comment since Monday afternoon regarding Johnson’s plans.
Lions president Rod Wood and general manager Bob Quinn have said they wouldn’t put a deadline on Johnson’s decision, but they’d prefer to know before free agency begins Wednesday whether or not Johnson will play in 2016.
Johnson, 30, has been mulling retirement the past two months, and people close to him say concern over his long-term health is the biggest factor in his decision.
