The Lions have been busy on Thanksgiving eve, filling Khyri Thornton’s spot on the roster by calling up defensive tackle Christian Ringo from the practice squad. However, the team wasn’t done and in the late afternoon of Wednesday, they made another roster move, claiming veteran defensive end and former Seattle Seahawk Dwight Freeney off waivers.
Per Adam Schefter:
Dwight Freeney has played in the NFL since 2002, when he was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts. He spent ten seasons with the Colts, and his career in Indianapolis intersected with Jim Caldwell’s own coaching career there.
