The Detroit Lions could meet with their future head coach Matt Patricia this week, but according to the Detroit Free Press, they have chosen not to do so. League rules forbid the Lions from hiring Patricia, since the New England Patriots are still in the playoffs. However, teams are able to interview assistant coaches in the week prior to the Super Bowl.
Because the Lions are forgoing the second interview, it suggests the two sides have worked out several of the issues currently facing the team behind the scenes. One of the bigger issues facing the Lions is their currently dwindling coaching staff.
