The Detroit Lions won't have left tackle Taylor Decker for the start of the regular season.
Decker is expected to miss four to six months, according to a report from NFL.com, because of the shoulder injury he suffered in practice last week.
Decker underwent successful surgery on Monday, and Lions coach Jim Caldwell said at the time he did not think the injury was season-ending.
According to NFL.com, Decker's injury was a torn labrum.
Under a best-case scenario, Decker would miss at least the first quarter of the season, when the Lions have arguably the toughest stretch on their schedule.
