Damion Cook has left a legacy of persistence and camaraderie among teammates in a journey through pro football during which he spent time as an offensive lineman with eight teams in four leagues in a span of 12 years (2001-2011.
Cook had a brief a stop in Detroit, where he played seven games with four starts in 2008.
Cook died of a heart attack on Friday. He was 36.
George Foster, who played 19 games for the Lions from 2007-08, posted a moving tribute to Cook on Twitter.

Cook officially was credited with playing 26 games and 10 starts in the NFL in stints with the Ravens (2002-04), Browns (2004) and Lions (2008).
