Well, that went better than expected.
But the Detroit Lions' defensive effort still wasn't enough, as Matthew Stafford and the offense struggled to put points on the scoreboard in Sunday's 30-16 home loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
Aaron Donald terrorized rookie tackle Frank Ragnow and strip-sacked Stafford deep in Detroit territory late in the fourth with the Lions facing a 3-point deficit. The Rams sacked Stafford four times in the game, and former Lion Ndamukong Suh made six tackles.
The Lions gained 310 yards of offense, but couldn't move the ball when it mattered, finishing 2-for-12 on third down.
