ALLEN PARK -- How exactly do you compare a really good punter against a starting offensive lineman? What about a rookie linebacker who looks promising against a proven receiver coming off a disappointing season? Or a new left tackle against a flawless long snapper?
These are the sorts of questions I grappled with while trying to rank the Lions' 53 best players -- an exercise that I freely admit is inherently flawed and probably meaningless. But there isn't anything else going on these days, with the Lions out of session until the start of training camp next month.
