Rafael Bush came to Detroit last season planning on winning a starting job. It didn't quite work out that way, as he was beaten out by Tavon Wilson for the Detroit Lions' strong safety job, but Bush found a way on the field anyway.
Bush became Detroit's No. 3 safety. That's an increasingly valuable position with the Lions, who used more and more three-safety packages as the season went on. He played in every game, both on defense and special teams. Even though he didn't start, he had one of the best seasons of his career.
