With their first three picks in the 2016 NFL Draft, the Lions selected an offensive tackle, defensive tackle and center.
In three picks, new Lions general manager Bob Quinn addressed the trenches, which he told reporters gathered in Allen Park after the first two days of the draft, was a priority.
“That’s where I believe you win football games,” Quinn said. “You win football games in the trenches and you’ve got to have big, strong, tough, durable, versatile guys in there.
“You know, I think both of the picks today kind of show what the scouting process is all about, about guys that might be big-school guys, but have different backgrounds.
