Quandre Diggs can't tie his own cleats because of fracture. He could play anyway.

ALLEN PARK -- Quandre Diggs fractured his hand on Sunday. But not even that can stop him from practicing.

He strapped on a cast this week, and hasn't so much as missed a practice. He's hitting bags with it, too. He's punching mitts. He's doing pretty much everything during the portions of practice open to reporters -- except, you know, actually tying his cleats, which has required assistance from a trainer.

"I can tie 'em," he says, "it's just the grass is just a little wobbly out there."

Diggs was in good spirits Thursday, as preparations continued for Sunday's game against Green Bay -- a game for which Detroit badly needs its starting strong safety.
