The Lions kicked off another week of on-field preparations without All-Pro linebacker DeAndre Levy.
“I’m getting close,” Levy said after Sunday’s game when asked of his current timetable for return. “I’m doing everything I can do to be able to be in the position to help us.”
Levy hasn’t practiced or played since injuring his hip in practice midway through the preseason.
The Lions defense doesn’t rank better than 24th in any major statistical category through the first two weeks of the season -- both losses.

The team was also without Brandon Pettigrew (hamstring) and Ziggy Ansah (back).
