Starting cornerback Rashean Mathis missed practice for the second time this week on Wednesday and now we know why.
Mathis is currently in Stage 2 of the league’s return-to-play concussion protocol.
“Today we’re going to list Rashean Mathis on the injury report with a concussion,” head athletic trainer Kevin Bastin told the media assembled at the open portion of Wednesday’s practice.
“Our game against the Vikings, he had an episode where he got hit late in the game. We took him inside with our team physician and the unaffiliated neurologist on the sideline and he was examined, taken through all the testing process, and it was determined he did not have a concussion.
