The Lions are slowing getting healthy ahead of Sunday’s matchup with Oakland at Ford Field.
After sitting out practice Wednesday, receiver Calvin Johnson (ankle), cornerback Nevin Lawson (concussion) and safety Don Carey (back) returned to practice in limited fashion on Thursday.
Lawson’s return is important because he’s trying to make his way through the league’s return-to-play concussion protocol.
“That’s all part of the return to play,” head coach Jim Caldwell said of Lawson after practice. “It still doesn’t tell you a whole lot other than the fact that he’s progressed enough to come out and practice and then you have to observe him and see what happens later today and tomorrow to see exactly where he goes from here.
