The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is auctioning off two road signs that once guided drivers to the Pontiac Silverdome.
Bidding begins Monday, Sept. 10 and ends Monday, Sept. 24. The two aluminum signs are about 7 feet by 14 feet each, and weigh about 225 pounds.
Silverdome isn't going quietly after withstanding demolition charges
State transportation officials said MDOT is selling the signs after many expressed interest in traffic-related keepsakes related to the Silverdome after the former home of the Detroit Lions was torn down last year.
The Silverdome was to be partially imploded in front of hundreds of attendees in December 2017, but the stadium withstood most of the the blasts.
