Point break: Super Bowl likely to be a shootout

Houston — In his opening comments to the swell of media in attendance, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell spoke glowingly about Super Bowl LI participants, the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots, focusing on the unique matchup of the league’s top-ranked offense and defense.

And while that is certainly a compelling storyline, the scoreboard operator might want to get stretched out because Las Vegas anticipates he’s primed for a busy day. The over-under line for combined points is 58, which would be the largest in the game’s history, trumping the Saints-Colts matchup seven years ago.

At this point, everyone knows what the Falcons can do.
