On Thursday, the Detroit Pistons’ organization unveiled some off-the-court changes that will make a night at the Palace of Auburn Hills certainly more appetizing and comfortable in the future.
First, fans will be greeted by a new, brightly lighted and contemporary-finished east entrance and east terrace concourse.
That’s part of the building that Dennis Mannion, president and CEO of Palace Sports & Entertainment, admitted Thursday had been a “dead zone,” but which now features three new eateries: the Maplewood BBQ, with its house-smoked barbecue favorites and neighboring bourbon bar; the Eastside Tacos stand with authentic Mexican Town taco options, and the Linkery, which serves handcrafted artisan sausages and rolls from Palace executive chef Lamar Nolden in conjunction with partners such as Dearborn Sausage in Detroit, Corridor Sausage in Eastern Market and Alexander & Hornung of St.
