Paul Worrilow was Detroit’s first defensive signing of the free-agency period. The former Atlanta Falcons linebacker was signed before the Detroit Lions announced DeAndre Levy would be released and is a player who has shown he can be a starter in the past.
His one-year deal pays him as if the Lions are counting on him to play.
He had 386 tackles in his four years in Atlanta with four sacks, two interceptions, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. He said after he signed that he sees himself as either a middle or weakside linebacker -- the latter being the position vacated by Levy.
