Having options is a good thing, and Bob Quinn made sure the Detroit Lions have plenty of those Thursday.
But while the Lions took no-risk fliers on former high draft picks Greg Robinson and Cyrus Kouandjio, there's little evidence to suggest either player can be the stopgap they need to plug the massive hole at left tackle created by Taylor Decker's injury.
Decker underwent shoulder surgery last week and is expected to miss at least the start of the regular season.
The Lions have not yet put a timetable on Decker's return, but torn labrums like the one he suffered typically take four to six months of rehab.
