Jim Caldwell isn’t coaching, talking or acting like a man who has had his fill of being head coach of the Detroit Lions and is ready to walk away from his job when this season ends after next Sunday’s game in Chicago.
His players aren’t performing like they’re looking forward to parting ways with Caldwell and eager to hook their future to another head coach.

Just the opposite, Caldwell has coached like he wants to continue as head coach, and there is support from his players for him to return.
There aren’t many certainties when it comes to hiring, firing or retaining head coaches in the NFL.
