The proving ground for the current state of the Detroit Lions is nowhere but on the playing field at Ford Field as they enter what they hope to be a friendly stretch of three straight home games.
No slogans or inspiring messages will lift them out of the three-game losing streak that has spiraled them perilously close to the live-or-die point of the season.
Whatever they are will be proven with their play, starting Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.
“I’m not one for a whole lot of slogans and that kind of stuff,” head coach Jim Caldwell said Thursday.
