It’s the loss that keeps on hurting.
This is the eighth day and counting since a season-defining victory the Lions were about to celebrate became a loss they may never forget. The Green Bay Packers completed a 61-yard Hail Mary pass on the final play for a 27-23 victory that stunned the players, fans and the entire franchise.
One play turned Ford Field into Morgue Field.
As the Lions prepare for Sunday’s road game against the St. Louis Rams, there are constant reminders of that Green Bay game. Even the Pistons have unwittingly piled on. The half-court shot that gave the Grizzlies a one-point victory at The Palace Wednesday night was called a “Hail Mary” -- in basketball, no less.
