A year of major changes in his professional life has included connecting back to what Chris Spielman considers his roots in professional football.
Spielman will be back in the television booth, serving as color analyst for the Detroit Lions’ four preseason games. Matt Shepard will continue doing preseason play-by-play with Jennifer Hammond the sideline reporter.
For Spielman, returning to the booth for Lions’ games is a natural reunion. Spielman began his playing career with the Lions in 1988 as a second-round draft pick out of Ohio State. He was a popular player, who fit Detroit’s gritty, blue-collar image.
