Quandre Diggs was one of the Detroit Lions' most pleasant surprises as a rookie.
He started four games as a sixth-round pick but essentially took over as nickel cornerback midway through the season. He finished the year as one of the Lions' most reliable defensive backs.
Diggs wasn't nearly as good last year, and when he tore his pectoral muscle in a December win over the New Orleans Saints, he essentially became a forgotten man.
The Lions took two cornerbacks in this year's draft, signed D.J. Hayden as a free agent, and with starters Darius Slay and Nevin Lawson and special-teams ace Johnson Bademosi also returning, Diggs looked like he'd have to fight for a roster spot.
