Notes: Safeties Bush, Wilson swap on depth chart

Rafael Bush went home after Thursday’s exhibition loss to the Cincinnati Bengals to tend to some “family things,” and when he returned Sunday he did so as the Lions’ backup strong safety.

But neither Bush nor the man who replaced him in the starting lineup, Tavon Wilson, said to read anything into the change on the depth chart.

“No big deal,” Bush said. “Obviously, coaches probably want to see different guys in there at different spots so we just go with the flow.”

Bush had played almost exclusively with the first-team defense through the first three weeks of training camp, but the Lions juggled personnel Sunday with injuries mounting at safety.
