By no means is anyone crowning the Detroit Lions contenders after their 34-16 win over the 1-5 Jacksonville Jaguars, but there is a feeling that they’ve clasped onto whatever remaining hope there is for 2020 and beyond.
And that wasn’t just felt locally. NFL.com’s Gregg Rosenthal listed the Lions as one of three teams that salvaged their season in Week 6.
“Sunday’s 34-16 win over the Jaguars was a sign the Lions could beat bad teams, and there are a lot of bad teams on their upcoming schedule, with Atlanta (Week 7), Minnesota (Week 9) and Washington (Week 10) all coming up on the docket by mid-November,” Rosenthal wrote.
