It’s no secret that the Detroit Lions more often do not fare well when sports analysts re-grade draft picks.
But this time, after another lackluster season, the Lions’ 2020 draft class had the biggest fall from grace in the league. Pro Football Focus’ Michael Renner regraded all 32 teams’ picks and as he put it, these grades are really just for entertainment purposes. Though, I’m sure you’d agree the Lions’ drop isn’t all that entertaining.
For reference, here are Detroit’s 2020 picks:
- Round 1 (3): CB Jeffrey Okudah
- Round 2 (35): RB D’Andre Swift
- Round 3 (67): EDGE Julian Okwara
- Round 3 (75): G Jonah Jackson
- Round 4 (121): G Logan Stenberg
- Round 5 (166): WR Quintez Cephus
- Round 5 (172): RB Jason Huntley
- Round 6 (197): DI John Penisini
- Round 7 (235): DI Jashon Cornell
Now here’s what PFF said at the time, right after the 2020 draft.
