With starting defensive tackle Haloti Ngata dealing with a shoulder injury and his availability for Sunday very much in question, the Lions could turn to rookie A’Shawn Robinson or veteran Khyri Thornton to fill the void.
Either way, both players are looking at extended reps if Ngata is unable to play.
Robinson, the rookie out of Alabama, recorded the first sack of his career in last week’s win over Philadelphia. He also had a key tackle on second down one play before the third down fumble by Ryan Mathews to put the Eagles in that 3rd and 2 situation.
