Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi likes the way his offense is humming early on in camp and the pace at which they’re playing.
It hasn’t always been easy getting to this point, however.
The Lions struggled with inconsistencies on that side of the football last season and Lombardi said if he could do it all over again he probably wouldn’t have put so much on his players' plate in their first year.
“Looking back at it and seeing how we’re operating now and the comfort level,” Lombardi said. “(We) probably could have had a simpler install than we did a year ago and maybe made the guys a little more comfortable so we were moving as fast and as assuredly certainly as our veterans are moving now.
