The Lions defense had a bad day last week in San Diego.
There were too many missed tackles. They couldn’t get off the field on third down. They allowed way too many yards after the catch. It was a bad day, let’s call a spade a spade.
Is defensive coordinator Teryl Austin in panic mode because of it? Of course he isn't.
“I feel good about them. I like our guys,” Austin said Thursday. “The things that happened were very correctible and that’s the thing.”
Austin said his players need to take better angles to ball carriers and tackle better.
