NOTEBOOK: Eric Ebron ready for an increased role

Eric Ebron’s role in the Lions offense over the last three games of the season will take a significant uptick after the news Monday that tight end Brandon Pettigrew has been lost for the season with a torn ACL in his left knee.

This isn’t something new to Ebron this season. Pettigrew missed Weeks 2-4 and 6-7 earlier this season with knee and elbow ailments.

Ebron was forced to pick up the slack then and had some of his better performances of the season during those stretches.

He caught a combined 11 passes for 126 yards and a score in Weeks 2-4.
