Players practice, prepare and sacrifice their bodies during the course of the week for a chance to play on Sunday. Any player will say that running out of the tunnel on gameday makes all the hard work worth it.
But seven players every week don’t get that chance because of the NFL’s 46-man gameday roster rule. Injured players typically make up the bulk of the inactive list, but there are times when a player finds himself on that list as a healthy scratch.
Third-year defensive end Devin Taylor was in that situation Week 2 in Minnesota. He plans to never be in that situation again.
