About three quarters of the way though an extensive workout session off to the side of practice Friday, running back Joique Bell and physical therapist/athletic trainer Tom Colt exchanged a high five.
It’s a simple gesture seen hundreds of time through the course of an NFL practice, but this one was a little more significant. It came after the injured Bell ran through sprints and cone drills, all while Colt was timing him with a stopwatch.
Bell walked over to Colt to see his time and that’s when he gave him the high five.
It’s a good sign that Bell, who has been on the PUP list since the start of camp after having knee and Achilles injuries taken care in the offseason, is getting closer to returning.
