Isa Abdul-Quddus sat at his locker Friday and reflected a bit on how his "career plan" has been falling into place.
He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Fordham in 2011 and earned a roster spot with New Orleans playing mostly on special teams.
Over the last five seasons he’s been a special teamer, nickel corner, backup safety and spot starter. Now he is finally getting an opportunity for the first time in his career to be a full-time starter in Teryl Austin’s defense.
Abdul-Quddus started his fifth game of the season in last week’s loss to Green Bay, which marked the most starts he's ever made in a season.
