ALLEN PARK -- Changes appear to be afoot in the Detroit Lions' embattled running game, and not even Ameer Abdullah or Theo Riddick is safe.
General manager Bob Quinn gave both running backs a vote of confidence during his season-ending press conference Thursday at team headquarters, but also noted the depth and production issues that were exposed by their absences.
He's looking to restock that 30th-ranked running game any way he can, even if that means adding a running back to compete with Abdullah and Riddick, the latter of whom just signed a three-year extension.
"I'm always looking to upgrade," said Quinn, who just completed his first season as Detroit's general manager.
