Running the football just got easier for Jamaal Williams and the Detroit Lions.
Williams, who is expected to start at running back today in place of the injured D'Andre Swift, will face a Minnesota Vikings defense that will be without its two best linebackers.
The Vikings (5-6) deactivated starters Eric Kendricks and Anthony Barr today because of injuries.
The Lions (0-10-1) will play without Swift, their leading rusher and second-leading receiver, for the first time this season. Swift aggravated a shoulder injury in last week's loss to the Chicago Bears.
He is expected to return next week.
