Haloti Ngata missed another practice because of the strained calf muscle he suffered two weeks ago against the Seattle Seahawks, but the Detroit Lions defensive tackle said in a conference call with Chicago reporters today that he's "feeling better" by the day.
"We'll see how the week goes," Ngata said. "As the week goes, we'll see what goes on and we'll just kind of re-evaluate and see if I can play or not."
Ngata has had a minimal impact on the Lions' 22nd-ranked defense this year, making just six tackles with no sacks and sitting out last week's 42-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals
He said injuries - he missed most of training camp with a strained hamstring - have "definitely" slowed him down, and it's unclear if he'll play Sunday against the Chicago Bears.
