Haloti Ngata won't play Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals (4 p.m., Fox) because of the strained right calf he suffered in Monday night's loss to the Seattle Seahawks, but the five-time Pro Bowler said he has faith that the Detroit Lions' young defensive tackles will do just fine in his absence.
"Man, those guys are going to do great," Ngata told the Free Press today. "Those young guys. Caraun, Gabe, we brought in Flu. Cudjo. They've been practicing real hard this week and they're going to do a lot of good things. I think they're going to surprise some people.
