Last week, the Detroit Lions caught us by surprise. Yes, the Jacksonville Jaguars aren’t a good team, but coming out of the bye, the Lions looked just as bad, and it appeared the Matt Patricia era may be nearing its end.
But a convincing win over any NFL team—no matter how bad—will do a lot of good to the soul. The Lions are now 2-3, which doesn’t sound nearly as bad as 1-4, and there’s still a faint chance this season is completely salvaged. With a soft schedule ahead, the next few games are absolutely essential, and it starts this Sunday in Atlanta.
