For the second day this week, the Detroit Lions sent shockwaves throughout the January sports scene. This time, it wasn’t because of a wacky press conference, but a decision that could impact several different teams in 2021 and beyond. The Lions and franchise quarterback Matthew Stafford have agreed to part ways, meaning it’s no longer a matter if the Lions trade Stafford but when. Maybe one day this team can make January news for the right reasons.
Anyway, given that the face of this franchise for the past dozen years will be playing elsewhere next season, plenty of Lions players, both past and present, went to social media with thoughts.
