Marvin Jones made it very clear after signing a five-year deal with the Lions in free agency this offseason that he wasn’t coming to Detroit to replace Calvin Johnson.
"I’m here to be me,” the fifth-year receiver said shortly after signing his deal. “I’m here to do what I can do to help this team win and to succeed, and that’s all that I can do.”
That mantra hasn’t changed now that he’s in the building, learning the offense and taking part in the offseason training program with his teammates.
What made Jones a priority in free agency for general manager Bob Quinn and the Lions was his ability to wear a lot of hats for this offense.
