ALLEN PARK -- Luke Willson grew up loving Barry Sanders. Even dressed up like him for Halloween. Twice. He loved Herman Moore too, and Johnnie Morton.
Like so many kids who grow up in Detroit, he loved the Lions.
But Willson didn't live in the city. He didn't even live in the country. He grew up in LaSalle, which is about 10 minutes across the Ambassador Bridge into Canada.
"Depending on lights, maybe 15," he said.
So although he could drive to Lions games inside of an hour, there wasn't much football he could actually play.
