Stevan Ridley was skeptical when he first heard the Detroit Lions were interested in signing him as a free agent.
Ridley won a state championship while playing high school football in Mississippi, a national championship in college at LSU and a Super Bowl 14 months ago with the New England Patriots, so joining a winning organization - something the Lions haven't exactly personified over the years - was high up on his list of priorities with a new team.
But when Ridley visited the Lions last week, he looked around and saw enough like-minded people - he was with general manager Bob Quinn, strength coach Harold Nash Jr.
