The Detroit Lions waited weeks to sign a defensive end in free agency despite having no depth at the position besides star Ezekiel Ansah, Devin Taylor and Kerry Hyder.
So the Lions needed to add some experience, something they did Monday by signing Wallace Gilberry to a one-year deal. And it ended up being a fairly lucrative one for a player who was picked up in the second wave of free agency.
Gilberry has a base salary of $885,000 along with a signing bonus of $340,000. He also has a workout bonus of $25,000.
