Detroit Lions right guard Larry Warford returned to the field last week after fighting through a tricky high-ankle sprain that has nagged him all season and sidelined him for the better part of four games.
“It’s just with high ankle sprains, even the trainers told me, the doctors told me, it was a frustrating injury,” Warford said today. “Even (tight end Brandon) Pettigrew told me, you get in there and you feel good and then one misstep and you say, ‘Oh. Oh, wait.’
“I mean, I’m not 100%. Tweaked it a little bit in Denver and the coaches took me out.
