The text buzzed my phone about 50 minutes after the Detroit Lions kicked off the fourth round of the NFL draft Saturday by taking Kentucky offensive guard Logan Stenberg at No. 121 overall.
"Meanest prick in the draft," it read.
The scout who sent it meant it endearingly, and if Stenberg's college reputation is a precursor of things to come in the NFL, the Lions might have found themselves a starter for the interior of their offensive line.
Stenberg, a three-year starter at left guard for the Wildcats, was nicknamed "Mr. Nasty" at Kentucky, where his penchant for playing through the whistle made him one of the most physical linemen in college football.
