Joe Bachie was front and center, the face of Michigan State football defense and an avatar of Mark Dantonio’s underdog regime.
Then, in the 11th hour of his college career, he disappeared.
Poof. Gone. Banished from playing after the Big Ten determined he tested positive for a performance-enhancing substance.
On Thursday, Bachie resurfaced at the NFL scouting combine, where he explained what led to his suspension in late October, five days after the Spartans played their eighth game of the season.
