After setting a USFL record last week with more touchdown passes (three) than incompletions (two), Michigan Panthers quarterback Josh Love wasn’t nearly as sharp Sunday night in Canton, Ohio. Against the Philadelphia Stars, Love picked up his third incompletion with almost five minutes remaining in the first quarter.
Luckily for him, the Panthers’ defense was even better than it was last week, holding the Stars to just 45 yards rushing in Michigan’s 24-10 victory at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Week 2 of the USFL season. The win puts the Panthers (2-0) alone in first place in the North Division ahead of their home opener next Sunday at Ford Field in Detroit.
